Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 15 April 2026
Our commitment
GreenSus Publications is committed to making its published content and platform accessible to the widest possible audience, including researchers and readers with disabilities. We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and continue to improve the experience for all users.
Conformance status
This website is designed to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Most pages and features conform, although some third-party or user-contributed content (e.g. author-supplied figures) may not fully meet the criteria. We are actively addressing remaining gaps.
Features we support
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (menus, modals, dropdowns, figure viewer) are operable with a keyboard. Modals and dropdowns can be dismissed with the Esc key.
- Skip link: A “Skip to main content” link is provided for screen reader and keyboard users at the top of every page.
- Semantic structure: Articles use proper heading hierarchy (
h1→h2→h3), landmark regions, and ARIA labels where appropriate. - Image alternatives: Meaningful images have descriptive
alttext. Decorative images are marked so assistive technology can skip them. - Dark mode: Automatic dark theme via
prefers-color-schemeplus a manual toggle, with color contrast tested in both modes. - Responsive design: The site reflows to any viewport width from 320 px upward without loss of content or functionality.
- Language declaration: Each page declares its primary language via the HTML
langattribute.
Known limitations
- PDFs: Author-submitted PDFs may not be fully tagged for screen readers. We are working with authors to produce accessible PDFs for new submissions.
- Figures: While rendered figures have alt text, embedded charts in some articles may lack long descriptions. Please contact us if you need an accessible alternative.
- Third-party widgets: Embedded services such as Crossmark and Meilisearch are delivered by third parties and may have their own accessibility properties outside our direct control.

Assessment approach
This statement is based on an internal accessibility review conducted on 15 April 2026, combining manual code review against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria and keyboard testing. We periodically re-audit as the platform evolves.
